Eric Pulier is a man who wears many hats. He is a renowned Philanthropist, Technologist, Author, Editor and Entrepreneur. Although he succeeds in every one of these sectors, every one of these fields has a relation to his computer and technology passion.

Education Background

Eric Pulier early years of school were spent in Teaneck. He attended Teaneck High School and later moved to Harvard University. Pulier was an English and American Literature Major at Harvard. He also took Visual & Environmental Studies and Computer Science. He graduated in the year 1988, Magna Claude.

As a student at Harvard, he participated in writing a weekly column from the University’s Crimson Weekly. He acted both as a columnist and editor. Subsequently, he attended the neighboring Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he furthered his computer and technology skills.

Career

Most people begin their careers after completion of studies. The case was different for Pulier. Pulier was already programming by the time he was in fourth grade. And, when he was in high school, he started his first database company.

On completing his studies, he started People Doing Things (PDT) a company aimed at providing technological solutions for the various economic sectors. In the year 1994, he started Digital Evolution, which merged with US Interactive, four years later. Pulier has been founding more companies including Desktone, Akana, and Media Platform, just to name a few. Some of these companies he has sold for millions of money, amassing a lot of wealth within a very short time.

Philanthropy

With great success comes great responsibility- This is a saying that Pulier lives by. Each one of his companies is developed to impact the society in one way or another. However, he does have companies and products that he has specifically developed with the aim of giving back to the society. Starprize is one of such companies. It was developed with the aim of helping children suffering from life threatening diseases to interact. He also donates to XPRIZE, a non-profit organization that promote competitions for technological development.
